"The Club" Youth Cafe

A place to chill, meet friends and make new ones

Young People- God's church today as well as the future of God's church tomorrow!
At Pear Tree Road Baptist Church, children and young people are treated with respect and considered able to contribute to the worship and life of our church in a uniquely enthusiastic way!

We believe that their gifts and skills given to them by the Holy Spirit are intended to be used in God's service & in their lives right now.

Children are actively welcomed at all times in our services, and there are 3 kids' clubs available for fellowship activities, depending on age and preference.

Our Monthly All Age  Service

On one Sunday a month, usually the 2nd Sunday, we have an intergenerational All Age  Morning Worship service- designed for all  to worship & learn from each other- if you are on your own, with your family, young or more mature: young people stay in for the entire service.

All age services are usually intentionally different to the rest of the month- normally more '21st century', fun often hands on, interactive, lively, perhaps incorporating games & multi-media. But we also encourage times of stillness and seriousness before God, too.

If you have children normally complaining that  church is "boring", this service might help them relate more easily to  God, the Gospel and church.

For other morning services children are invited to stay with us for the first section but they then can go out to a creche (or other youth programmes as available), rejoining the main service towards the end. At some services (where appropriate), we  also have kids tables at the front of the church, where youngsters can go and colour/draw, if they & their parents would prefer for them to still be part of the main service.

Looking for a place to chill, meet friends, and play games? Look no further! The CLub YouthCafe meets every Tuesday 6-8pm for all aged 11-16 years. We've got over 500 registered members now, but we have a limit each Tuesday on numbers in, so first arrive, first in.

We've got 4 active "zones" to choose from. The Sports Zone with indoor football, team games, The Games & Chill Zone featuring   chess, chequers, card & other games, "nail" and beauty sessions,  The Pink Room - with dance, & throughout the month different activities, whether a disco, live music or arts & crafts, cooking.

If you are into jamming, why not come along & bring your musical instrument- or join in on our piano, keyboard or drums with others. Free drinks & biscuits to refuel you when needed.

If you want to learn more about Christianity or what Jesus is all about in an informal way, we often have a great Slovak Christian band in one of the zones, playing some great music with people to answer your questions. Other kids often share their experience about what it means to them to have found faith in Christ. Its your choice...

Young people from eleven different countries attend, so where ever you come from- you are very welcome.

If  you've recently arrived into the UK, don't panic!  There are plenty who probably speak your language, & you can practice English in a friendly, place. And meet loads of new friends....

We work together with Roma Community Care and the Multifaith Centre.
